The program

A controls system is only credible if it is operated on a cadence — and assured.

P5 develops integrated controls professionals who can establish, operate and assure the Pi v2.0 Master and Package-level controls cycle. You author the Integrated Controls Strategy (M-510) and Progress Measurement Rules (M-270), run the Earned Value Performance Report (M-530), administer the Change Control & Configuration System (M-520), produce credible cost and schedule forecasts (M-350, M-240), govern internal baseline change (M-340, M-660), and validate system integrity through periodic health and maturity assessment (G-560, G-570).

It receives the approved integrated master schedule (M-220) from P1, cost baseline inputs from P2 and P3, and risk inputs (M-410, M-420, M-430, M-460) from P4 — then hands the standard performance pack to P6 for advanced intelligence and the assurance outputs to P7 governance. Detail-level field controls remain with P9.

Author a Pi v2.0 Integrated Controls Strategy (M-510) and Progress Measurement Rules (M-270) that integrate scope, schedule, cost, risk and reporting into a single Master-level operating cadence.
Operate the Master-level Earned Value Performance Report (M-530) end-to-end: progress measurement, BCWS/BCWP/ACWP integration, productivity review, and CPI/SPI interpretation.
Run the Change Control & Configuration System (M-520) covering scope, schedule and cost change initiation, with auditable cross-domain impact assessment via M-750.
Produce credible periodic forecasts (M-350 Cost Forecast EAC/ETC, M-240 Progress Updated Master Schedule & Forecast) supported by a defensible variance register (M-370) and schedule health view (M-250).
Operate the Package-level controls subset: I-530 Work Package Earned Value Update, I-170 Work Package Change Register, I-540 Work Package Combined Performance Report.
Run the Master-level scenario validation cycle (MC11/MC12 → M-630) and the integrated issues and decisions cycle (M-180, M-740, M-660) for internal baseline change approval.
Conduct an independent Controls Health Check (G-560) and Controls Maturity Assessment (G-570) via GC01 — the closing assurance step that protects the credibility of the controls system.
The curriculum

Fourteen courses — architecture, then operations, then assurance.

Course 1 sets the strategy and the rules. Courses 2 to 10 build the operational cycle at Master and Package level. Courses 11 to 13 add the judgement layers. Course 14 closes the assurance loop.

Questions

What controls professionals ask first.

Who is this program for?
Project Control Managers and Engineers, Cost Controllers, Planning Engineers, Reporting Analysts, Package Managers, Risk Managers, Project Directors and the Independent Reviewer function. It is the core program for the Project Control Manager pathway — all fourteen courses.
Do I need to take the courses in order?
Yes. The sequence sets the operating model first (Course 1), then builds the operational cycle (Courses 2–10), then the judgement layers (Courses 11–13), then closes assurance (Course 14). Once approved, the sequence cannot be reordered without governance sign-off.
How is this different from Program 6?
P5 owns the standard controls cycle and the performance pack that comes out of it. P6 picks that pack up and adds the advanced intelligence layer — KPI/KRI architecture, predictive analytics and decision-grade narrative. Course 9 (I-540) is the package-level hand-off.
What do I need before starting?
Nothing formal. The cycle operates against the approved integrated master schedule (M-220) from P1 and cost baseline inputs from P2 and P3 — if yours come from elsewhere, the same analysis applies.
What will I actually produce?
The operating artefacts of a controls system — strategy (M-510) and progress rules (M-270), two cycles of earned value (M-530) with M-240, M-250, M-350 and M-370, a full change cycle (M-520) with impact assessment (M-750), the issues and escalation set (M-180, M-740), a scenario pack (M-630), a baseline change record (M-660) against M-340, the package set (I-530, I-170, I-540), and the assurance outputs (G-560, G-570).
Is the program aligned to a standard?
Every course inherits its scope, processes and deliverables verbatim from Pi System v2.0 — its Process List, Deliverables Register, RASCQIE Matrix and Roles Register.
